November can feel like a month of small wins. The light shifts, we spend more time indoors, and bodies can start to feel a bit creaky by lunchtime. This is the perfect moment to focus on mobility. Not party trick flexibility, just the kind of easy, everyday movement that makes walking, sitting, lifting, and getting up from the floor feel nicer. Our theme is Mobility First. The idea is simple. We create a little more space in the joints you use most, then we add a bit of control so the gains last. Nothing dramatic, nothing rushed, just steady work that feels good now and helpful later in the day.

When I say mobility I mean useful range with strength behind it. The kind where your shoulders feel free enough to reach up to a high shelf without your neck doing all the work. The kind where your hips help your lower back instead of pulling on it. The kind where ankles give you balance rather than wobble. Mobility First will give you these little improvements without needing long sessions. Most days you will practise for 10 to 30 minutes. We will sprinkle mobility snacks through the week and fold them into short flows so the body learns to use the new space straight away.

You will also meet a short, focused challenge inside the month. It is called Everyday Mobility, Stronger Joints. Seven small sessions placed the second week of the month so you have time to settle in first. Each day is 10 to 15 minutes and you can do them at any time, morning or evening, whatever fits. Day 1 looks after neck and wrists, especially helpful if you type a lot or grip your phone more than you wish. Day 2 frees shoulders and upper back so overhead shapes and vinyasas feel kinder. Day 3 helps the ribcage twist without dragging the lower back along for the ride. Day 4 loves your hips. Day 5 works hamstrings and the inner leg line so folds stop tugging on your back. Day 6 wakes ankles and calves for better balance. Day 7 links the lot in a simple flow you can repeat whenever you like. We start small and let the body open at its own pace.

What will the rest of the month feel like. Think short flows that reuse the drills from the challenge. We build a little heat, move through clear shapes, then slow down and breathe. You will see movements like 90–90 hip switches, puppy on blocks, strap hamstring floss, and gentle thoracic rotation. We then take that new space into everyday shapes like lunges, Chair, Half Splits, Bridge, Side Plank on the knee, and simple balance poses. You will not need to remember long sequences. I will cue the same helpful patterns often so they become second nature.

If your lower back can feel grumpy, Mobility First should be a relief. We will strengthen the deep core and glutes just enough to support the lumbar area, then free the hips and hamstrings so the back is not dragged into shapes it does not enjoy. If your shoulders feel tight or your wrists moan in vinyasa, the month will help there too. We will open the chest, wake the shoulder blades, and teach your hands how to press the floor without strain. If balance is your nemesis, we will give your ankles some love and your eyes a steady point to rest on. You will notice that when the base steadies, the whole pose feels kinder.

I want this month to feel accessible and repeatable. Most days you will need only a mat and maybe a block or strap. Bend your knees in folds. Choose the softer option if something pinches. You are not trying to pass a test. You are building a habit that helps you feel better in your own body, and small repetitions are what change things.

Here is how to use the calendar. Follow the plan day by day if you enjoy structure, or alternate mobility snacks with short flows if your week is busy. If you miss a day, you have not ruined anything. Step back in with the next session and carry on. If you have ten minutes before a call, do a quick set for neck and shoulders or ankles and calves. If evenings are your quiet time, roll out the mat and take a gentle hip and hamstring session before bed. Save your favourites so you can come back to them whenever the same niggles pop up. The aim is to make movement easy to choose.

You might ask what progress looks like here. It will be quieter than a big strength month, but you will feel it just the same. A squat that is smoother. A fold that no longer tugs. A twist that arrives without effort. Wrists that feel less tender after a few vinyasas. A walk that feels springier because your ankles have a bit more range. These are the wins I love. They are real and they last.

The seven day challenge deserves a little more detail because it is the heart of the month.

On Day 1 we start with neck and wrists.

On Day 2 we add shoulders and upper back.

Day 3 is all about ribcage twists.

Day 4 shifts to hips.

Day 5 takes care of hamstrings and adductors.

Day 6 looks after ankles and calves.

Day 7 ties it together in a friendly flow, head to toes, smooth and repeatable.

Do these seven on their days, or bunch them across a week that suits you. The sessions are short on purpose so you can win the consistency game.

If you enjoy strength work, you will still get your fix. We will keep a touch of load in the plan so joints feel safe. The point is not to max out. It is to remind your body that new ranges come with support. That is how you keep them.

If you are new to my classes, welcome. I keep cues simple and options clear. If you are returning after a break, this is a forgiving month to rebuild confidence. If you have been practising with me for ages, use November to smooth out niggles. Think of it as maintenance, the good kind that saves you hassle later.

A few tips to help you enjoy the theme. Put your mat somewhere you can see it. Decide your practice window a day in advance and protect it like you would a short appointment. Ten minutes is enough. If you have more, wonderful, but the small version is the one that adds up. Keep a block, strap, and towel nearby so you do not waste energy hunting for things. If a shape feels like too much, change it. If a joint feels sensitive, make the range smaller and the breath slower. You will still get the benefit.

Please share how you get on. Tell me if the wrist work helps your vinyasa. Tell me if the hip sequence makes walking feel nicer. Tell me if ankles and calves make Half Moon less wobbly. Your notes always shape what I record next. If there is a joint you want extra help with, ask and I will add a snack session for it.
